It is with mixed feelings that I read the message below of one of our very committed rural doctor, Dr. Micheal Nnamele Chinedu, in the crisis ridden far northeast Nigeria. I pray for God to continue to bless you and find someone else to replace you as you take a bow,. You will be sorely missed. "Working in the Northeast Nigeria has really thought me a lot about humility and the need to show empathy and tolerance. This is actually a view of how the once rich and vibrant people of Borno state now live. I've met more than 10 people who were millionaires with hundreds of cattle and bags of farm grains who now live here. Really sad. Some stories will actually push you to tears. This is what the Boko haram insurgency did to them. I have buried a friend, lost close friends and colleagues to abductions (Praying for their safe return someday) but God has kept me safe and healthy. Been thinking alot this days about how I want to spend the rest of my life, with all I've seen and heard here. Like my brother and colleague Arome Okeme will always say "Bro. Leave that place oo, I no wan hear your own story). I think its actually time to go home. Go back to my beautiful family whom I have missed so much this past 4yrs. I beg us all to keep praying for peace, cos I have seen what war can do. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS".
