As covid gradually finds space to settle within us quite forcefully, we must find a way to accommodate her. Life must go on. Science has evolved and new groundbreaking discoveries are replete in several fields. Medicine isn't left out. The AstraZeneca vaccine, like all other vaccines, is meant to help curtail the spread of the virus and keep guard against severe forms of the disease. As an angloswedish vaccine in conjunction with Oxford University, it has had its own fair share of doubts and myths but then it still manages to stay afloat. Condemnations arising from people who allow their children to take other vaccines for vaccine preventable diseases is hypocritical and preposterous.
One argument being put forward is that the vaccine hasn't passed through the necessary checks and produced in a hurry. My answer to this will always remain that in the 21st century science isn't what it was in the 17th or 18th century, hell it wasn't even what it was in the recent 19th or 20th century! The urgency of the moment demands for the best brains and machines available. A global problem that unites scientists will bring forth discoveries that will be mind blowing and even incredible. This only gives credence to the fact that humans can achieve anything should they put their hearts into it. We got a vaccine in less than a year! We did it! It should be our proudest plume. I have had my jab quite remarkably because something produced in a far-off country traveled several miles across the oceans to get to me in my small village in Africa. That is remarkable. I had the vaccine a week ago and I am still fine. When I was less than 1, I was under the guidance of my momma when she picked me up to be vaccinated with about 6 vaccines, now I am older and wiser, I have taken responsibility for my health by taking the vaccine to help fight against the raging virus of my time and I hope I build immunity against the virus for future eventualities. I urge you to do the same as doing so will be, not only taking responsibility for your health, but also taking care of the health of your neighbor and the world as a whole. Have faith in science, go get your jab while you still can. It is safe. The rural doctor initiative… Everyone deserves good health.
