Please stay healthy and work hard. You should take care of your mother, not the other way round especially if she is a widow.
I called out the next patient from the waiting room where they all were and a young lady in her mid 20s stepped in walking with difficulty and holding onto her right side. I offered her a seat and was about asking questions when I noticed a rather elderly woman surreptitiously peep and hid. She repeated this three times and as though summoning up courage, she appeared in the door way and stood.

Mr A, 62-year-old, drove into the facility on a Saturday afternoon and complained of fast breathing that started 2 days ago. He was seated some 4 feet from me putting on his face mask. With him was momma, his wife, who was rather calm. He was obviously in respiratory distress. Immediately Covid-19 registered at the back of my mind.
A very good friend and accomplished Nigerian journalist resident in the US wishes to give back to his people back home....please let us support this massive project with as little as you can afford.
*A Daughter’s Passionate Appeal* On June 22, 2021, my dad, *Azuka Jebose*, will turn 60. This is an especially poignant milestone for our family, as on this same day in 2020, he was finally released from the hospital following an almost week-long stay due to COVID-19. For most of that stay, we weren't sure that he would make it back home to us, but with the help of an incredible medical team, he is not only home, but more himself now than he has been in recent months. For that, we are thankful. Remember the widow whose daughter we managed for Diabetes that couldn't afford the whole bill and we had to meet her half way?
Well, they came to the clinic for follow up visit today. Last week a couple of people on Facebook, two actually, offered to give her some financial relief. One gave 5 thousand and the other, 3 thousand. We handed the money to them as it is.
I appreciate @eleojo_agbadi, a class mate, for getting in touch via inbox to discuss the most current resuscitation method for pediatric. She is a senior registrar in pediatric department in Abuja, almost a specialist now.
We at the Rural doctor for now will not be able to climb the career ladder via residency until we decide to leave here. The issue now is, when we leave, it is one doctor short in an already protractedly deficit state. |
