I appreciate @eleojo_agbadi, a class mate, for getting in touch via inbox to discuss the most current resuscitation method for pediatric. She is a senior registrar in pediatric department in Abuja, almost a specialist now.
We at the Rural doctor for now will not be able to climb the career ladder via residency until we decide to leave here. The issue now is, when we leave, it is one doctor short in an already protractedly deficit state.
It is a good thing however that we have her to always input when we need a more professional input. Thank you doc. "Welldone Omaye on your work. My input in this resuscitation which may make a difference next time includes.... 1. Use of iv 10% D/w 2- 4mls/kg bolus and maintain immediately after to prevent a rebound hypoglycemia 2. Neonatal resuscitation is a bit differient from your standard CPR of 15:2/ 30:2 compression to breaths For neonatal resuscitation as in this case an AMBU bag is a life saver.. to give rescue breaths as in this baby too feeble to have effective respiration In the ratio of 3:1 of chest compressions to rescue breaths. Oxygen is essential just as you gave 3.. continous advocacy as you do with your page will go a long way May God continue to bless the work of your hands"
