If you have been following the RDI before Christmas last year you would have found the story of a woman who had 7 pregnancies and only succeeded in birthing 1 alive. The last pregnancy came with complications and we almost lost the baby. It took another tedious 3 weeks to revive and manage the baby to life.
Today she is 5weeks old and they came for their routine clinic check.
Baby Bangeskiya was in clinic today and I was ecstatic like a child! I couldn't conceal the joy!
A certain good Samaritan offered 10k to Bangeskiya for the festivities but unfortunately I had discharged her before she could get it.
Yesterday at the clinic, I presented the gift to the mother amidst prayers for the person. Thank you all out there.
Bangeskiya's grandma couldn't hide her joy... Last year she knelt down to greet me and I felt so ashamed as it is very wrong in my culture for an elder to kneel down for a younger person.
Today, however, it was all dance, dance, dance... And tell you what, I was more comfy with the dance.
Sometimes all the people want is for us to be caring enough to show concern for their plight. All they need is some love, care and relevance.
They only want to live and subsist. They don't want to struggle with you for your wealth, education and fortunes. No. They only want to eat their next meal in peace. All they need is to be shown and treated like humans who are also equal in the sight of God.
Bangeskiya brought a new family to the RDI and we are proud to be her family too.
All of us are one big family, all of us. Yes, you, you and you over there.
Thank you for everything. The RDI will continue to bring hope to the people.
