Let me rephrase that question, How important is great, prompt medical care to you? If there are no Doctors in the villages, there must be quacks. Someone's got to take care of the sick. Nature abhors vacuums. The world as we know is a global village where you can live in the remotest corner yet order a pair of shoes from the most advanced corner of the earth and have it delivered to your doorstep in the blink of an eye as long as you have a strong internet connection and of course the money to pay. lol. Now imagine healthcare delivered in this manner. Where you can control its availability wherever you are and whenever you need it. Imagine that you don't need to visit a physical health care facility to be attended to by a physician unless in extreme cases but even at that you can still have access to one over a strong connection who can guide you, prescribe the right medication and first respondent assistance all the way till you get to a physical care giving centre. Wouldn't that be wonderful? At the Rural Doctor Initiative we are already thinking in this direction because we understand the many challenges facing the average Nigerian, especially the rural area residents when it comes to quick access to quality medical services and we strongly commit to bridging this gap and that is why we are currently researching on 'Virtual Medicare', a system that puts quality healthcare in the palm of your hands wherever you are and whoever you are. "Public health finds real meaning and use in the rural areas. I am a public health enthusiast." At the Rural Doctor Initiative, we strongly believe and stand by our motto that 'Everyone Deserves Good Health'.
