Surgery for an acute abdomen 2 typhoid perforation rlo ruptured appendix. A subcuticular suturing of an exploratory laparotomy incision. Exploring however showed an acute appendix only. Patient is currently recuperating. She is a 14 year old whom we kept cosmetics in mind while going in. I think the closure was beautiful. Intestinal perforation is a serious complication of typhoid fever and remains a significant surgical problem in developing countries, where it is associated with high mortality and morbidity, due to lack of clean drinking water, poor sanitation and lack of medical facilities in remote areas and delay in hospitalization. - Source: Typhoid intestinal perforations at a University teaching hospital in Northwestern Tanzania: A surgical experience of 104 cases in a resource-limited setting
