Burn Wound

​This 23-yr-old female student was brought to the facility limping. I first guessed she had had a sprain or strain of her joints of muscles as the case may be.
​
She had actually been burnt by the exhaust pipe of a motor bike when she had an accident on it.

​She took her full self to a local herbalist who was then applying all sorts of herbs over the wound until sanity dawn on her miraculously and she demanded to be brought to the hospital.

The wound was infected and crusty. We had to debride and cleaned with peroxide and dressed with dermazine and some sufratule.

​Because we had to be weary of contracture from the bend of the knee, we admitted her and splinted the leg in anatomical position, released only when she needed to use the loo.
She is better now and her legs are straighter. She is due to present to the clinic sometime next week. We would be sure to bring you an after picture.

As a single lady, there was every need to ensure she wasn't limping so as not to discourage her suitors and, more importantly, for full function of the limp.
